This is nothing short of criminal. I know a few people that live pretty close and I am hearing that the lane was partially blocked delaying the fire engines attending.
A grade 2 listed building sold for "other uses" and a week later a mysterious fire guts the place. Doesn't take a lot of working out really.
Marstons are a disgrace for selling it off in the first place.

The police are coming all Line of Duty on the place.
From what I've just read it has already been demolished. Now that was quick!
Not much chance of an investigation into the cause now....

Funny how the lane was blocked for the fire engines but mysteriously cleared to allow the bulldozers through...
Quite true. Sadly it went out with a bang.
Turns out it wasn't listed, which is annoying, but it seems the council are working out some way of feeling collars.

South Staffordshire council will probably be calling in favours from its grasses, getting ready to rough some people up to get them ready for verbals. The Mayor wants it rebuilt; there's precedence in The Carlton.
