    Default Some Gloucester corrections

The Tall Ships is now The Tall Ship (singular).

Teagues Bar should not have a definite article, please correct. Also, the pub was previously called The White Hart, and this has not just been retained in the lettering and the deer statue on the front of the building (you'd have to be a real philistine to destroy something like that), but also added to the modern hanging sign. I would suggest this listing should be Teague's Bar (The White Hart).

The College Arms is now The Old Pelican Inn. Its full address is 4 St Mary's Street.

The Kingsholm Inn (note the definite article is included this time), opposite the rugby union stadium, has (The Jockey) after its name on the signage, presumably a former name for the pub before its association with the rugby club. I suggest our listing should reflect that.

The Dick Whittington is named as such on the hanging sign, but the lettering on the front of the building calls it Dick Whittington's. This confusion extends to other listings such as this one, where both names are used interchangeably. I'm inclined to think it doesn't really matter and leave well alone, but if you have a policy of favouring the lettering on the building over that on the hanging sign, then I guess it needs changing.

    Cheers

    Hi sheffield hatter,

We have corrected the names of The Tall Ship, Teagues (The White Hart), and The Old Pelican Inn. With both The Dick Whittington and Kingsholm Inn hanging signage is actually our preferred (unless we get undue complaining about their use) and again, not really in favour of bracketed additions.

    Thanks for those.

Thanks for clarifying the position re hanging signs, etc. I'll keep that in mind for the future.

One minor correction I forgot yesterday: Robert Raike's House is correctly Robert Raikes's House.

    Cheers
