Returning to Beeston, I think meeting at the Victoria is much preferable, not least as we tend to start together but drift off at different times. It handily has a gate onto the station platform too, or at least it did. There's a good half dozen worth doing apart from the main three, plus a sprinkling of 'try also's' with one or two cask ales on. Fingers crossed the Pottle re-emerges too. However I challenge anyone to get off JG's, which seems to involve having a haircut!!

I too will give JG's a miss ! I've been a regular visitor to Beeston over the years,walking up from the river and I am not sure that the gate onto the platform from the Victoria garden is always open these days.I agree that the Victoria is an obvious place to meet and it does open on Fridays at 11am.Virtually all the other pub are around 10 minutes northwest of the Victoria ,so I would suggest the Boat & Horses in the opposite direction (10 minutes flat walk )should be be left out of the main crawl route.
As far as I can see the only pub NOT opening by noon is Totally Tapped and once into the town centre the distance between pubs is not demanding especially if Somewhere Beer House is left off the list.There are lots of good contenders besides the GBG 2026 entries.I am waiting for my copy of the 2027 GBG.

On another, slightly related note.
As we have now decided on the 13th of November it means I still have the weekend of the 23rd of October free, as the good lady is in Ireland. The last time I planned to go to Coventry circumstances conspired against me and I had to cancel. So, whilst researching train and ticket options to Beeston this morning I also took a look at Coventry for the Friday October 23rd and was amazed to see £6 super saver single tickets from Euston each way available, so jumped on.
So if anyone fancies a warm up bash in Coventry on Oct 23 you are more than welcome to join me.

Also tempted depending on Head Office approval.

I'm thinking of opening up this Beeston crawl to CAMRA members on Discourse, as we had fairly low numbers voting for it on here. I don't imagine a large number of takers, but maybe a few more than we had at Lancaster.

If there are no objections by the end of the week I'll go ahead and post an invitation.
