Some unexpectedly excellent cask in Gosport last Saturday provides BOTW, ABC Old Toby, a superb smokey Porter taken in the equally superb Junction Tavern , a 9/10 pub when I eventually get going on my review backlog.

A very good week with some excellent beer although some had suffered in the heat.
Against stiff competition, BOTW was Downton Lions Tale. A superb 4.5%, beautifully balanced beer which struggled to stay in the glass. Three pint test completed by all who tried it.

Have to agree that the Loins Tale was terrific but equally so was the Blue Bee Citra Strata Pale in The Colmore,a worthy BOTW in a worthy pub.
