Pump signage can be misleading. I was in a pub the other day and noticed they had Blackthorn on, which you don't see too often these days. Whilst obviously keg, the pump clip described it as "Somerset Pressed with English Cider Apples" which sounds perhaps like an enticing local product.

Whilst it may technically be true in as much as the apples are indeed pressed at the old Showerings/Gaymers facility in Shepton Mallet, what it neglects to mention is that now that Blackthorn is owned by the C&C Group, the resulting concentrate is shipped to Ireland to be made in to cider at the same factory that produces Magner's, which isn't quite so appealing. It's a bit like the "local" vegetables that one of the supermarkets used to sell, forgetting to mention that they were washed and packed in Poland.
