I thought you had been uploading a lot recently!

Great new features though Dave, very much appreciated.

Ok, visits are now also included on the stats page. Not sure how reliable it is as a feature at the moment. I think you probably are just about the only person on the site using the feature, as it is not the most user friendly thing.

I am aware of your previous request, I am going to try to build a little more to do with visits into the new mobile version (that can also be used as a new desktop version). Ideally making it easier to record visits and see what you haven't visited yet. Not quite ready to start putting that in yet, interactive stuff can be a bit more awkward than just presentation.

    Thank you for the feedback.

I suspected that both you and Jonathan Wilde might have noticed my activity! Hopefully going to finish making sure most of the East Bristol pubs have a photo from the past 5 years in the next couple of weeks.

I did fix the bug report that you have since edited out.

Edited to add: this was supposed to be a reply to post 22 regarding visits.

Eh? What? Another site feature I've never heard of! A quick glance suggests that reviews probably count as "visits", but I've got considerably more reviews here than visits, so I'm not sure how it's calculated. It would be neat, though hardly vital, to tick those pubs which I've been in, but not reviewed for any reason.

A change request which you might consider perhaps:
Add "My Contributions" as a link in the "Useful Stuff" list for signed in users (instead of going via Control Panel). I can see that becoming a popular page for many of us.

Thanks for the recent flurry of updates - all much appreciated.

And a bug report for you:

The Real Ale Pubs page renders differently in different browsers.

On Firefox (Android), the map is displayed on the left 80% of the screen, with the pubs listed below - this is the correct (and usable) result.

On Vivaldi (Android) - Chromium-based, the map is displayed on the left 50-60% of the screen (it varies for some reason), with the pubs squeezed in on the right and almost unreadably small.

In both cases, the phone is in portrait mode. I've not tried other browsers.

On my Android tablet, Vivaldi renders the same as on the phone (in both portrait and landscape), and with the larger screen is perfectly readable. Firefox, for some reason, seems unable to show any pubs at all - no markers on the map, and just an X and a "Close" button below, neither of which do anything.

This is presumably some complex CSS issue (so good luck with that!). Let me know if you need more info, or want me to test a beta.

Yes I think I added it in as a concept in about 2017, but getting the interface for it right was always an issue. (I think it was when Quinno was doing one of his pub challenges so I could give him a way of ticking them)

Initially though I just assumed that every review was linked to a visit and credited everyone with those visits (not ideal but a starting point, it didn't automatically carry on though. I still think it is a handy concept and would like to build it in a bit more if I can work it out.

Good idea, I will look at getting a direct link in somewhere.

I'd never heard of Vivaldi, but Chromium based means it shouldn't act too differently really. I just installed and it looks ok. I did try pressing the 'Desktop Only' option in the browser though and that makes it a bit like you are describing I think, could that be it?

No idea what is going on there but I just made one small change. I may have to get an AI rewrite of the page and see if it can fix some of the mess I made.

Cheers Dave - turning Desktop Mode off fixed both issues. Bit weird that Firefox Tablet showed nothing at all, but there you go. So now it's Desktop ON for most of the website, but OFF for RAPs! I can work with that though.

Using Edge on my Android device, I still get the desktop version of individual pub pages (which is fine with me as I'm used to the layout and I can magnify the maps or zoom the whole page if I need to).

However, I get the mobile version of the 'Pubs close to my location' where the map magnifies as expected by the list doesn't (although you can zoom the whole page).

Clicking on any pub from that list gives me the mobile version of the pub details bottom left but that doesn't magnify either.

However, the 'View full pub page' option is so small (unless you manage to zoom the whole page) is so small as to be almost invisible.

    Does that feedback make sense?

    .
I use it when I remember, and it has been quite helpful when I've been going through old (pre-PuG) diaries. Quite agree that it could be improved but not sure exactly how - maybe a button somewhere on your own review to Add Visit? Low on the priorities though.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement
