I am still a possible at this stage. I did jump on and get the super saver return ticket for under the price of two pints of Peroni in a London pub on the chance I can make it, with the knowledge that it would just be pouring two pints of Peroni down the drain ( which I am sure several would consider the best thing for it) if I can’t.
The issue I have is that I already have two London socials on the Wednesday and Thursday, which will involve beer, the Saracens versus Northampton game at the Tottenham Stadium on Saturday and a family party on the wife’s side on Sunday, that I am under strict instructions to be fully compus mentis at.
So will make a decision on the Friday morning depending on how messy the previous two days have been.

At this stage I am seriously considering forgoing a beer at the Rugby, which will be one of the most unnatural things in the world, but as Beavertown has stopped brewing the One of their Own" in house at the stadium and it will be a choice between Neck Oil or Gamma Ray, I think I might be able to do it.

I discovered yesterday via my Google news feed that the Duke of York, first pub on the crawl in Mick's list, has won Pub of the Year of the local CAMRA branch (Salisbury & South Wilts). I'm going to have to make a point of visiting this one, even if my train's arrival time means that I'll probably be there after the main body of the crawl has moved on.
Coincidentally, a row has kicked off on that Discourse today about branches not updating their websites with news of PotY winners. Nothing as yet on the Salisbury branch website, but there's a link to the March to May edition of Barrel Organ, their free magazine. Which seems to be well designed and informative ... and clearly went to print before the selection of PotY had been completed.

I've done Salisbury to death over the years so giving this one a miss given it's a fair trek for me these days.
I'm sorry that I won't be there. My only small consolation is that I won't have to choose between two conflicting pub crawls as I can't do either of them!
