Default Pubsgalore Salisbury crawl 27th March 2026

In these dog days of January maybe it's time to consider the next crawl after a very good run in 2025.

Looking back at the 2025 polls some interesting places just missed out.

    NORTH -- Newcastle and Lancaster

    MIDLANDS -- Newark

    SOUTH -- Plymouth and Salisbury

Is there any consensus amongst those ? For the first crawl in 2026 the North/Midlands/South decision is not crucial ,but a Southern crawl in June/July often proves too hot for real ale quality.

Agree that the south can be a bit hot in summer and we've just done the Midlands, so perhaps a southern crawl, given the weather? Not sure about Plymouth and it's a very long way, but Salisbury sounds like a good suggestion.

Yes I'd go with Salisbury, some nice pubs and the beer scene has picked up a bit over the last two or three years.

Salisbury would work well for me, date depending. As long as I remember to get the train back to Somerset, of course.

On a purely personal basis I would much prefer Plymouth, having done Salisbury to death over the years. There is certainly some good drinking there though.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

I'm happy with both although Plymouth for me would be virgin territory.

An unfortunate turn of phrase given past events.

I went there once; I wish I were still a virgin, but that's the effect of the Plymouth Hoe.

No opinion - I've done both extensively over the last few years

Not too many replies but with no objections and a general consensus on Salisbury lets go for it.

I will post up a poll for dates on Saturdays and Sundays in March and April excluding Easter unless there are any other thoughts.

Agreed. I'm actually on my way there now.
