    More interesting week:

    Brancaster Oystercatcher*
    Barsham Eastern Gold
    Arbor C Bomb (keg)
    Grainstore Triple B
    Red Dog Ales Smash
    Kent Brewery The New Black*
    Kent Brewery Loaded*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Moongazer Pintail*

BOTW was Kent Brewery The New Black. The barman at the Stars described it as a "hoppy stout" and "an acquired taste" pretty much spot on although he didn't take to it. The brewery's description is a black American pale ale. Also spot on as it's gently malty but balanced with a hoppy finish. I did take to it as 3 pints testified.

It was our annual pre-Christmas wander round Skipton, this week.

    Kirkstall - Jasper.
    Red Willow - Treacle Stout.*
    Craven Brew Co - Yorkshireman.
    Weetwood - Jester IPA.*
    Empire - Whisky Porter.*
    Tartarus - Abaddon.*
Craven Brew Co - Black Angus Porter.*
    Roosters - Easy Going Assassin.

As usual the beer quality was very high, nary a bad one among 'em. Way out in front was the Abaddon, a rich and satisfying impy stout (17.5 %)). Five pounds a third and worth every penny. Taken at The Boathouse Bar.
