A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Didn't think this would be the case but Ye Olde Trip To Nottingham, a fascinating pub if caught at a quiet time.
"Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer."

Some great pubs in Lincoln but nowhere else, with seven being above average:
The Adam & Eve
Duke William
The Joiners Arms
Morning Star
The Strugglers Inn
The Victoria
By a nose, given the lively atmosphere, POTM goes to The Cardinals Hat
Enjoyed a beer or two and a curry at POTM The Keans Head. I'd thoroughly recommend both.
"Beer is food." Morse, Colin Dexter
Although all the pubs in Lincoln were fine, I can't recall one that stands out in my memory.
The Bridgewater, Worsley, Salford
Twelve close family gathered here before and after pizza nearby. The beer selection is much improved. I was carried out of here on my 17th birthday and 25 years later I'm pretty sure noone remembers... (except my parents there on both occasions).
A recent mini-crawl round Barnsley yielded five new ticks. PIck of the bunch, for me, was Heaven & Ale. A good chilled atmosphere on our late Friday afternoon visit, plus excellent beer quality. GBG 2025 listed.
'And where he supped the past lived still. And where he sipped the glass brimmed full' John Barleycorn, Carol Ann Duffy.
A two-way tie, courtesy of a brief sojourn 'oop North' for work, sees the gong split between:
Swan & Railway Hotel, Wigan
Black Horse, Preston
"Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter"
An old favourite:The Ferry Inn Not too far from Doris's.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
Morning Star
Best new tick for Novembere, proper old school.
"Good people drink good beer" Hunter S Thompson
