Default Pub Of The Month - June 2024

Late on parade, due to holiday and lack of memory.

Some great pubs in Halifax, visited by all. Otherwise, those with '7' or above:

    The Bankers Cat
    The Rifleman
    The Trafalgar

    Victorian Craft Beer Cafe

My favourite of the many new ticks in June, the name maybe doesn't fully capture the interest of my visit. There is a cafe feel at the front but much more lurking away and the ale selection and pork pies were excellent.

An epic weekend encompassing Halifax, Bradford and Leeds saw honourable mentions for
    The Big Six
    Three Pigeons
    Corn Dolly
    Fighting Cock
    Duck And Drake
POTM by a long nose goes to...
The Grove Inn, a fantastic pub, 9/10 pushing a 10.

Some quality there! I worked two minutes' walk from the Grove for eight years 2004-12 and regularly went there for lunch. Back when drinking at lunch was permitted - on one occasion between Christmas and New YearI put away five pints.

    Anyway not to boast.

Darlington Flyer. I was apprehensive about it walking in but the Wainwright Amber was fine. Indoors had low key 1960s music suiting the clientele, while out back there was EDM mashups going on at 11a.m. I enjoyed both and it was far better than likely listening to abandoned kids on smartphones in the Wethers opposite.

    The Cross Keys

What a fantastic pub. Would love if this was my local.

Thanks to Old Boots for the tip off. One of the best pubs I've been for a long while. Was very hard to leave
