A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Kent:
Harvey's-Sussex Best Bitter.4%abv.Good condition,if a bit cold.
McCanns-Haffenden. 4.2%abv. Dark brown malty stalwart.
McCanns-Sunday Sessions 3.8% abv.Straw coloured, summer fruit. This could be a Twisted Wheel beer,as they seem to be brewed at, and maybe by McCanns.Anyhow, the beer board said McCanns. My BOTW.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
A small but well formed list:
Oakham Bishops Farewell*
Rudgate Chocolate Stout*
North Cotswold Nao Faz Mal IPA*
Wakey Wakey Fever Dream IPA*
The Nao Faz Mal looked to be the odds on winner until BOTW Wakey Wakey Fever Dream popped up. A hazy, 5%, IPA brewed with English hops this is quite unusual. Fruity and even slightly sweet to begin but giving way to an appealing dry and bitter finish. Just kept getting better.

Downlands -- Revival *
Wakey Wakey -- Fever Dream* >3PT
I have to agree that the Fever Dream was outstanding and nearly passed the double three pint test but to ring the changes i will give BOTW to Downlands Revival on NBSS 4.5 form in Cobbett's
Next week the Halifax crawl then the start of the booze cruise in StalyVegas so don't expect to hear from me for a couple of weeks with two very long BOTW lists, hopefully full of quality.

The Kernel Export Stout London 1890*
Cask beer of the week goes to Surrey Hills Gilt Trip taken in Dorkings excellent Cobbetts, however overall has to go to The Kernel Export Stout London 1890 , surely one of the worlds greatest beers taken in The Borough Beer House.
A big weekend coming up with Halifax on Friday followed by Bradford and mostly Leeds Sat/Sun.
