Sad to read about the POV in Brum. Had many great nights there, but it had definitely gone downhill in recent times. Very quiet and not a great beer choice on the pumps.
Always sad when we lose yet another pub.

I thought it was drains! It was the only downside to an excellent occasional drinking haunt.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

Yes. And one not to be sniffed at.

Bad news from Brewdog. I'm not a massive fan of these places but do pop in the one in Brum now and then.

According to the FT in2023 they lost £64M on sales of £281M while with 2024 figures yet to be published Taylor said that "it crept back into the black on an "adjusted-ebitda basis" (!!!!) but sales have "stalled".

So i guess they had to do something...............with net debt £239M equivalent to 10x peak adjusted ebitda of £24M reported in 2021.

It does seem that if you want to occupy prime real estate location in cities you need to have a hospitality offering that runs through from breakfast to midnight, to spread the fixed costs a bit more.
