I paid £12 for a single malt in a bar called Mother Superior in Edinburgh last week. As my review shows, the pain was somewhat lessened by being given the beer that I was waiting for "on the house", on the perhaps spurious grounds that it was the first out of the pipes.

Not so much pub prices, but I saw the Buzzcocks at the 100 Club last night and all the Eurofizz/Guinness options were £6.30 a pint except £6.70 for alcohol-free Lucky Saint; unlucky for some...
Saw the Buzzcocks 8 times, mainly at the Electric Circus in Manchester. with either Howard DeVoto or Pete Shelley singing.

True, but it's the fact that the alcohol-free stuff costs more is where the irony lies.
Visited the newish Irish pub in Manchester yesterday lunch time The Dirty O'Sullivans and was the only customer in and soon found out why. Iinvested in half of Budweiser and was charged a mere £3 80p
