Thanks Mick, a lot of quality in West Yerks., a couple of days there is a good idea.
I missed so many when whizzing thru on a friend's 5-town tour (in a day!), a more leisurely return is needed.
My records (and memory) are extremely sketchy, with crawl recollection fading fast and it wasn't at its sharpest towards the end.
My three best recollections to date for the year:
Big 6 (got the T-shit)
The Sussex Arms
The Three Pigeons

I think this year's are in the process of being finalised/announced. There's a thread on Discourse that has named most of them.
Come On You Hatters!
Here's a little list of six pubs that I've rated 9 or 10 in the last two years:
The Wild Boar, Warwick
The Cardinals Hat, Lincoln
Talbot Arms, Settle
Chesterfield Arms, Chesterfield
Manor Arms, Broughton in Furness
The Black Rock, Wakefield (change of licensee this year, but beer was still good last time I was there)
Come On You Hatters!
Jim,
Over the last year I have really enjoyed the following pubs and I too will also endorse those pubs mentioned already in Halifax. Happy hunting.
Stalybridge Station Buffet
Magnet,Stockport
Tamworth Tap
Cardigan Arms
Sportsman,Huddersfield

So, early Nov sees the Anglo-Espana Ale Society head West with short stops in Reading and Bath before a stopover in Bristol.
Which hostelries would local knowledge suggest to be the current best two in both Reading and Bath and selection of, say, 6+ in Briz?
Obviously Nags and probably Fox&Hounds will get votes in Reading, I can't recall much of our Bath targets last time I was there pre-Christmas some years back, other than most were quite 'cosy'...
Thanks all, j

Alright Jim,
I make you right on Reading though Quinno may differ preferring, I believe, The Alehouse over the Nags, I'll let him speak on that, My personal favorites in Bath are The Old Green Tree , Coeur de Lion and Raven. As for Bristol It's been five years since my last visit so I'll let others more up to date comment but certainly The Cornubia and if it's your kind of thing Left Handed Giant is worth a look.
Anyways, enjoy.
