Pathetic week with just three 'spoons festival ales in The George, Croydon.

    Vasileostrovsky - Siberian Red
    Mauldon's - Blackberry Porter
Titanic - Molly Brown Ale =BOTW ,another winner from Burslem.

Next week end of the month supping one evening in a refurbished Mc Mullens pub to be followed by Southampton Arms and possibly Pineapple,Kentish Town which should deliver several BOTW contenders.

Thursday and Friday both spent at Tuckers Maltings beer festival with ensuing carnage.

from th remains of my programme I'll nominate
    Quantock Nightjar 3.9%
packed with flavour and well balanced NZ hops. Defo a 3 pinter.

    Honorable mentions to
    Milk Street Mermaid
    Yeovil Stout Hearted
    Quantock Wills Neck
    Bristol Beer Factory Acer

plus others too many to mention hic!

Decent week for me variety wise, but many of the Wetherspoon's festival beers were rather ho-hum. Tried this week:

    Marstons - PacificGem.
    Elgoods - Spring Gold.
    Woods - Twist Grip.
    Hilden - No.4.
    Everards - Malty Tasker.
    Batemans - Mocha.
    Fernandes - Jackdaw MILD.
    Fernandes - Nightjar.
    Fernandes - Great Northern.
    Rat - Black Rat.
    Ilkley - Black.
    Devil's Backbone - American Amber.
    Vasileostrovsky - Siberian Red.
    O'Hanlons - Red Ale.
    Rat - Bonkers American IPA.
Dark Star - Art of Darkness.
    Downton - Rye Smile.
    Rat - Dirty Rat.

With honorable mentions for the Siberian Red and Art Of Darkness, the clear winner was the Bonkers IPA, an apparent experimental brew from Rat. Wonderful tropical fruit nose, with a smooth but intense hoppy mouthfeel. Even at 6.5%, it absolutely slid down.*

*Will, you would have absolutely hated it!
