My normal instinct is to distrust politicians, civil servants and anyone with a vested interest, however on this occasion I have to give the benefit of the doubt and hope underneath the hype and bull there is enough truth to warrant my trust. I'm old so probably have less to lose than others and if enough get the vaccine to build up the pool of immunity then a third head or whatever might be worth it for the common good. It's a personal choice and I wouldn't condemn anyone who felt it was a risk.

There is talk that pubs etc will want to see your inoculation "passport" before letting you into the premises.

That was suggested by the minister in charge of implementing the vaccination programme, but immediately discredited by Gove. So, yes, it's almost certain to happen.

I think a further bifurcation/fragmentation of the industry would occur before that - student/pleb pubs for the revolting rabble, and polite gastropubs for the human guinea pigs

Perhaps Gove and Co. could open a pub by this name?

In rural North Yorkshire? Sadly not, there are vanishingly few traditional pubs in the countryside and the towns are full of either trendy bars or sad pubs with a disappointing beer selection. I travel to Leeds, York or Otley in normal times.

You have to choose which hill you die on etc,

It's quite clear to anyone who bothers to research that this was over in late April as the sun rose. All the government are doing now is using our money to save face and prevent their day in the court over their care home genocide.
