It will be my first meet -up but i have booked my rail ticket tonight. The Salmon looks good. cheers john
Well we have had 13 comfirmations,of which ten are arriving by train and I'm sure that number will swell.
I have to agree that The Pub is the obvious place to gather.
Thinking about a route and looking at the trusty Pubsgalore map of the city centre there does appear to be an arc of likely venues for the crawl from The Pub which have been mentioned by various people earlier in the thread namely
Kings Head
Swan and Rushes with a possible diversion across Mill Lane Bridge to The Western
Criterion
Shakespears Head
Cafe Bruxelles
Globe
Longstop
Salmon with a possible diversion to Bridle Lane Tavern
Ale Wagon
Quite a few people have mentioned The Salmon as high on their list so this route could be done in reverse order, rather than pop in there at the end of what looks like an extensive crawl.Either way the crawl will finish near the station.
A taxi ride out to Cow and Plough may be a good option for those arriving early but I understand this pub doesn't open until noon.Probably a question of getting a taxi back to where ever other PuGers have got to when finished in there.
Just some thoughts from me to get the ball rolling on where to visit on March 22nd.I am sure I have missed out some gems (Slug and Lettuce ) and included some dogs, worth discussing on line rather than waste valuable drinking time on the day

Count me and Mrs A in for this one - would defo be up for a jaunt out to the Cow & Plough, sounds like a cracking pub with the full range of Steamin' Billy ales. See how it pans out.
For those wanting to try the Steaming Billy beers, BF's suggestion of the Western avoids the long taxi journey out to the Cow and Plough. And looking at the map it seems that there's a route back to the Criterion via the Black Horse Tavern.
Anyone, like Roger, wanting to do more than 11 pubs will have ample time after their arrival in Leicester (10.29 in his case). (My train arrives at 11.54, by the way.) And if we meet at the pub (sorry, The Pub), that'll make 12 anyway (and Black Horse makes 13!).
Does anyone know what time The Pub opens? There's nothing on their website.
