I would hope that is Central London as the £5.00 pint hasn't reached me yet. The Rose & Crown is still under £4.00 (unless it's Dark Star IS) and the Bell is still under £4.00 but only with CAMRA discount. As far as I know the cheapest Guest Ale price in Greater London is the Romford World's Inn which sadly is a Lloyds. It's still £1.99 there but I wouldn't be surprised if it all changes today or next week as the January Sale ended yesterday and I won't be surprised at all to see them raising their beer prices. They normally introduce new prices on a Wednesday.

I don't care how cheap the beer mentioned in the article is, personally I wouldn't want any of it. You can still get decent beer (IMO) sub £4.00 in good pubs in London if you pick the right pubs.

That average price of £5.19 is for cask and keg rather than just cask.Cant agree with you Moby I think £4.50 a pint now seems to be the average price in Central London and about £4.30 locally for cask beer .

I don't think the average is anything like £5.19 a pint in London so don't know where they got their figures. But under £2.00 at https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/25637/ might go some way towards explaining the recent review. I stuck my head round the door once a couple of years back but it seemed a bit Silence of the Lambs so didn't pluck up the courage to actually have a drink.

Agree that £4.50 is the average but Iv'e recently had pints in The Harp and Tapping The Admiral under £4.00 (albeit with CAMRA discount, £3.50 in the latter),Oakham Citra at £3.80 in the King Charles 1 , Kings Cross ,without discount, The Southampton Arms and Euston Tap may have just recently broached the £4.00 mark. That said it no longer shocks me to be charged nearer £5.00 in other places.

In Central or even Inner London (excluding Spoons and Sam Smiths)?

Thanks, I saw that. I'm happy to swerve London completely (apart from suburban JDWs), usually for the West Midlands but the two Margate micropubs I went to this year were charging £3.00 a pint for cask.
