    A very minimal week indeed,

    Young's Bitter
    Wild Weather India Brown Ale
    Purity Pure Gold
    Red Squirrel Hopfest
    Oakham MK Ultra

There can be only one winner and it's Oakham MK Ultra, Oakham are truly the hop masters.

I am likely to be absent from these pages next week as I will be down that Corfu for 11 days as of tomorrow.

    Hertford and London,two good sessions

    Mc Mullens -- 1827
    Mc Mullens -- Woolpack
    Dark Star -- Revelation *
    Salopian - -Golden Thread * (3PT)
    Park Brewery -- Gallows Gold
    Salopian -- Atonement *
    Salopian -- Lemon Dream
    Theakstons -- Amarillo

BOTW goes to Salopian Atonement served on top form in Craft Beer Co. who were having a Salopian evening on my trip.A complex ,rich and strong ale which slipped dangerously down.

Next week boating to Castleford and Leeds ,quality ale should feature large in that weeks list.

Not a great week as cider beckons in summer weather :-

    Shepherd Neame Spitfire 4.1%
    Brecon Copper Beacons 4.1%
    Palmers IPA 4.2%
    Blindmans Maverick 4.5%
    Thornbridge Wye 4.7%
    Tiny Rebel Full Nelson 4.8%
    Titanic Plum Porter 4.9%
    Titanic Captain Smith 5.2%
    Wild Weather Motorcycle Emptiness 5.5%
    Mallinson Columbus XL 5.5%
    Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%
    Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%

I'm going for the Tiny Rebel Full Nelson as tried in their Newport outlet.
The Wild Weather beer with the great music reference is runner up.

Good week for me, with two decent sessions.

    Ashover - Littlemoor Citra.
    Great Heck - Amish Mash.
    Abbeydale - Unbeliever. (Keg)
    Oakham - Citra.
    Salamander - Pedantic Porter.*
    Bad Seed - Session IPA.
    Bad Co - Wild Gravity.*
    Tigertops - Simple Beer.
    Nomadic - Oatmeal Stout.
    Stod Fold - Amber.
    Salamander - Whoopee Doo.
    Townhouse - Cascade.
    Ilkley - Crossroads IPA.*
    North Riding - Mosaic Pale.*
    Northern Monk - Eternal.* (Keg)
    Brighton Bier - Heydaze.
    Brass Castle - Bad Kitty.*
Brass Castle - Session Mini IPA.*
    Leeds - Ten.

A strong list this week, with the Crossroads, Mosaic and Eternal being particularly good. However, the Crossroads just shades it.

    Quiet:

    Bishop Nick 1555*
    Phipps NBC IPA
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

BOTW Bishop Nick 1555. An Essex brewery new to me which produces this apparently boring, brown beer which was in top nick at a local show with a full and moreish flavour which encouraged a second. And a third.

Bishop Nick is run by descendants of the Ridleys Brewery family which was bought and closed by Greedy King.I liked their beer back in the day, and their old style pubs, but I should think Aqualung would have more reliable opinions. I've only tried Bishop Nick once:their Heresy 4.1% abv was noted as 'not being in good Nick', though I put that down to the pub.

No pub for me, this week.

Yes, Nick Ridley is a direct descendant as is the geezer that runs the excellent Compasses at Littley Green (the old brewery tap). Their Ridleys Rite is as far as I can tell an exact copy of the old Ridleys cooking bitter. They were old school as there was very little else then.
The only Ridleys pub that closed before I could get to it was the Pretty Lady at Ranks Green which became a private house in the late 70s or early 80s.

Quiet on the beer front this week , made a rookie mistake and got into Oakengates forgetting it was carnival day and bloody chaos .

    White Rose - Hung Parliment
    Abbeydale - Moonshine
    Drone - Fanshawe Blonde
    Blue Bee - Ginger Beer
    Salopian - Disintegration

The Blue Bee was a bit weird , far to much ginger , like drinking a Chinese Hot and Sour

    BOTW Salopian - Disintegration
