My local Tesco....I expect others....are currently selling their "Finest" branded American Double IPA (9.2% so go steady) which is by Brewdog at a quid for a 330ml bottle. Possibly an acquired taste for some, very citrussy and sharp but I love it. On the same deal is their Porter which is a decent offering too (6%).

Great news-we never see Thornbridge Hall here in Kent, and we've got a Waitrose as our nearest Supermarket-they also sell Hopdaemon's Skrimshandler!

My local Tesco is doing most of its bottled beer range at 4 for £5 , unusually it includes some of the better beers like Butty Bach which are normally not included in offers

We, too, have a Waitrose, and I'm pleased to see that all 3 selectons are pale - very much my kind of beer!

Sainsbury's, meanwhile, are currently doing an 'introductory' offer on 5am Saint (£1.10) & Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (£1.34). No idea how long these are will last, so best get down there sharpish.

I tried. Even to the extent of retrieving the bike from its cobwebby slumber in the shed, pumping up the deflated tyres, dragging my sorry arse up the hill (& walking the bike half of it), enjoying the whizz down the other side, only to find, as expected, no such goodies on Sainsbury's so-called 'superstore' in Streatham. The ale shelf is truly pathetic there these days, and they think that 3 for £5 of some commonly available beer (perm any Fullers/Badger) is some sort of bargain? Pah!

I don't believe I've ever tried the iconic Sierra Nevada () and was ready to lay in a few along with the Brewdogs.
