Ten Unique Pubs in Every Good Beer Guide for 35 Years - 6/09/07


Ten pubs in England and Wales that have been in every edition of the Good Beer Guide since the original edition in 1974 have been given a special award by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Through an unwavering dedication to real ale these ten pubs have been put into all 35 editions of the Good Beer Guide – known as “the beer drinkers bible.” Around the day the 2008 guide is released each of the pubs will host a special 1970’s themed party to celebrate their achievement.

The pubs are:

It's on the Cornwall map/brewery list and in the Breweries section with a gushing pub like description. I suspect the local branch thought that entry was enough and it freed up a slot for another pub. Other branches have taken a different view (eg Marble Arch, Beacon at Sedgley)

Oddly, CAMRA have just put up a downloadable .pdf copy of their 1972 Good Beer Guide on their website (as well as the supposed 'first' one of 1974).

We had hoped to try this last time we were in Swadul, but unfortunately time was against us. I remember thinking what a good pub this was back before it closed.
