    Brilliant!

Now I can tell Mrs A that I'm just going to the library and not be lying.

Amazingly, the George & Dragon wasn't listed on PuG. Have suggested it just now.

...whereas there are already 5 Librarys and 1 Old Library. So not such a new idea.

No doubt Mcspoons will buy the empty library buildings and open them as pubs, irony in there somewhere

It probably wasn't listed because it was closed and has only recently been bought by a group of locals, there is another pub at Skeeby near Richmond (Travellers Rest) that is trying to do the same. They're looking for backers so it's a chance for everyone to own a bit of a pub. More details here

We went there a few years back, and liked it, apart from the fact that we were knackered after driving up from Kent-a real down to earth pub, and were sorry when we discovered it had shut.Good luck to it and its backers-we'll try to go there this autumn.

I had n't heard of this battle, but have heard of the pub, but not visited-don't think funds would allow-very foody and up itself, or so I'm told.

As Corporal Jones would say " They don't like it up 'em ". I have vague memories of visiting it a long time ago in what was another life. Nice bit of country though.

This really is taking the piss.

Unsurprisingly, it's an arty "making a statement" thing, rather than a commercial enterprise. And the writer of the article seems unsure whether to spell whisky with an 'e' or not, so switches randomly between both spellings.
And you can really taste the hops!
