A pub is for life not just for Christmas
This month I'm going with The Tipsy Pig, a breath of fresh air in a sleepy town.

I'm going for the Derby Alexandra. I've been there a few times this year, obviously along with the Brunswick a few doors away and have started to marginally prefer this one and it is quite marginal. They always seem to have an interesting guest or two along with the Castle Rock regulars. I also like seeing the diesel cab in the garden, I thought I'd had too many wine gums the first time I noticed it.
POTM Alexandra Derby
The Prince.
On a random walk from Alexandra Palace station ,I had the good fortune to stumble across this pub.Fortune favours the brave.

Three that stand out for me in August:
The Lion at Blakey Ridge, North York Moors
Agar Arms in Warthill, near York
The Sun at Pickering
The Sun probably just shades it for me, but it's a close call.
Come On You Hatters!
The Albatross, Wells
Lovely location, fun and quirky and with some very good beer on my August visits.
"Beer is food." Morse, Colin Dexter
August was a good month with 31 new visits and some new discoveries including a new micropub in Banbury and bottle shop / bar in Kidlington, as well as some well-regarded PuG establishments including Baldock's Orange Tree, The Lamb Tavern in Leadenhall Market and the Albion Brewery Bar and Malt Shovel Tavern both in Northampton. However, the gong is going to go to a pub that has good marks from those that have visited it, despite it being off the beaten track and offered some great local ales along with welcoming management and locals and still retains the trappings of a cosy, country local:
POTM: The George in Tiffield, Northants.
"Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter"
Meant to post this weeks ago, but the new Fuggles Beer Cafe in Tonbridge just beats The Lanes in Dover as my August POTM.
Apologies very late with this
Holly Bush Inn
Stunning old pub
