A pub is for life not just for Christmas
St Peters Hall A classic ,unusual pub in the middle of nowhere.Timeless, in the right way.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
The New Inn
If you ever find yourself in Biggleswade ,dont be put off by the GK signage it's a very fine " Local Hero" leased pub.
"Good people drink good beer" Hunter S Thompson
Finally managed to make it to the legendary Three Tuns Inn & Brewery, and wasn't disappointed, so my POTM.
Only managed two or three new pub visits this month, none of them outstanding in particular, so the pub I enjoyed most in October was a re-visit to The Keep, more of a bar than a pub, but very accommodating with some nice live music and beer on an early Sunday evening.
"Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer."
-W.C.Fields
I have three excellent pubs to chose from this time. Needless to say none of them are in London.
Whitefirars Ale House in Coventry
Swan in Chaddesley Corbett.
Fox & Goose in Hebden Bridge
The scores give the game away as the Fox & Goose got 10 but the other two were very close. It's a community owned Free House where all but one of the beers cost under three quid.
It's on the edge of Hebden Bridge so has a bit of a rural feel to it. All are well worth a visit.
POTM Fox & Goose in Hebden Bridge
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
"Do I know where hell is? hell is in hello"
The Brandy Cask
The Fleece Inn - POTM
Very hard to choose between these two, both excellent.
