A pub is for life not just for Christmas
A very good month for pubs, for me.
Highlights included:
The Beer Cellar in Exeter.
Barley Mow and others too numerous to mention in Bristol.
The Roebuck Inn and a few others in Burton on Trent.
The Brighton Beer Dispensary, Seven Stars and several others in Brighton.
The Black Horse Inn, The Lewes Arms and The Gardeners Arms in Lewes.
The always reliable The Barrels Ale House in Berwick, and the new-kid-on-the-block Curfew just down the road.
Pub of the month, despite visits to Dagda Bar, Cask and Barrel (Southside), Guildford Arms and Cafe Royal Circle Bar in Edinburgh, turned out to be Canny Mans in Morningside.

Come On You Hatters!
Several enjoyable pubs found in Bristol during Novembers PuG visit, and two or three could take the prize, but its going to The Seven Stars, a proper beer drinkers pub.

Good pub visits this month.
Mrs Ale wanted this one to be POTM The Bag o' Nails as the combination of beer and cats were a winner for her. This was also very good in Bristol Bridge Inn
Some great pubs in the Black Country on a recent visit. Difficult to choose between these two The Starving Rascal and The Robin Hood Inn but the Robin Hood gets POTM, a lovely locals pub with a brilliant selection of ales at great prices.
A number of contenders this month.
The Organ Grinder in Loughborough was excellent as ever but nominated by Mr. F last month and The Old Kings Head in Long Buckby, under new ownerships, is an important addition to the villages ale houses and a potential future contender.
POTM goes to The Bell in Gumley. A great example of a rural pub.
I seem to have a huge list of contenders this month :-
The Duke William in Stourbridge
The Waterfall Cradley Heath / Blackheath
The Devonshire Cat Sheffield
The Wellington Sheffield
Shakespeare's Sheffield
The Kelham Island Tavern Sheffield
The Fat Cat Sheffield
The Harlequin Sheffiield
The Vine Brierley Hill
The Rose And Crown Brierley Hill
The Britannia Upper Gornal
The Great Western Wolveerhampton
So, it's the Black Country or Sheffield. I'll go for the Wellington as it was my favourite in the Kelham Island area. The Shakespeare, Vine, Britannia and Great Western run it very close.
POTM The Wellington Sheffield
I did quite a few nice pubs in Otley, but i think the pick of the bunch goes to The Old Cock a really nice proper
pub with a real fire on the go and a great choice of real ales.
We are all equal, but some are more equal than others
Although I was there at a wake, my first visit to the Kirkstall Bridge Inn was excellent, being the brewery tap of one of my favourite breweries helped of course.
The Cornubia
One of many very good pubs on the PuG crawl, the quirky interior and decent ale selection just pushed it to the top of the pile by a whisker.

Three new pubs in November: I'll go for this one, mainly because it was in Norfolk:The Ferry House
A good, community local in interesting countryside.
