MILD:
Well I can't see any reason why I wouldn't be free in October so put me down for this too, sounds like fun!
Pubs are a hobby, real ale is a passion. Oh, and like me dogs, fear no evil..........
The good thing about finishing at the Great Western, behind Wolverhampton train station, is that there are direct trains from there to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London Euston, Southampton, Aberystwyth and Stoke.
If you fancy staying overnight with Lenny Henry there's a Premier Inn (everything's premier but the price) virtually next door to the pub.
If you're feeling adventurous you can get the bus to Bloxwich ..... or Wednesfield or Walsall. The West Midlands is your lobster!
Waes hael!
Where would the pick up point be?
WE ARE THE BREADMEN - UP THE BEES
If i am not mistaken , i think young Mr Ven suggested http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubreviews/37946/ for the meet up (before the thread was split) only 16 pulls to go at !!!!
Theres a Man with a Mullet going Mad with a Mallet in Millets !
I did indeed suggest we meet up in the Wellington.
OK it's in Birmingham, which is not in the Black Country, but it's a central meeting point (much more so than Rowley Regis), it opens at 10.00am (Black Country Ales Pig on the Wall,BFG and Fireside are £1.90 per pint up to 1pm) ..... and Richard is OK with picking up from there.
Note to self for headcount purposes: PSM is a definite maybe

It looks as though we will be coming to this trip from Sheffield rather than from home. I have run through the posts and it looks as though the pick up is planned from the Wellington, Birmingham at 1pm.
I will be staying in Wales near Sheffield and the bus to Sheffield then train to Birmingham would get me to New Street for 12.07 so if a 1pm start that would be perfect.
Just wanted confirmation really.
Alcohol doesn't solve problems .... but then again, neither does milk.
Hello Gill,
I have drawn up a timetable involving a pick up from the Wellington at 12.30, 50 minutes in each of the next 6 pubs (after travel time) and then arriving at the Great Western at 7.30pm. If your train comes in on time you should be able to get to the Welly for 12.30, in time for a quick half if you wanted one?
