London caskwatch, of the five cask beers I had in London Saturday, condition-wise,
One was poor ( Project Babylon, Euston Tap)
Two were very average, (VOG Maveric, Scottish Stores and Saltaire Blonde, Lucas Arms)
One good ( Southwark Mayflower , McGlynns)
One excellent ( Park Field Haze , King Charles l )
However this weeks BOTW comes from familiar territory,The Alfred , Torrside Sentinel a wonderfully hoppy Porter.

Kent:
Iron Pier-Killick's Mill 5.3%: an unapertisingly hazy IPA. Flavourwise fine.Soft ,resinous;bitter finish.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
Just a quick teatime session, this week.
Mallinsons - Every Rose.*
Wensleydale - Stone The Crows.
Great Newsome - Holderness Dark.*
Stancill - Deuce.
Portobello - APA.*
A pretty good bunch, but the APA was my favourite. Really enjoyed the orange marmalade flavours from the Amarillo hops. Taken in Harry's Bar.
'And where he supped the past lived still. And where he sipped the glass brimmed full' John Barleycorn, Carol Ann Duffy.
I had this at the Euston Tap last week and indeed the condition was very poor, it tasting like a half pint of water with a squeeze of lemon; I didn't finish it.
Otherwise, a week largely on the lager in south London so:
Adnams/Siren - Secret Spring *
Kent - Ernest **½
Mauldons - Black Adder **½
St Austell - Proper Job **½
Sambrook - Sidekick **½
Southwark - Kazbek **¼
Timothy Taylor - Landlord **½
BOTW once again goes to Twickenham - Naked Ladies **¾ at The Barrel Vault (JD Wetherspoon).
Good few days crewing with Mr F:
Oakham Bishops Farewell*
Titanic Raspberry Pale*
Titanic White Star*
Titanic Plum Porter/Raspberry pale mixed*
Titanic Iceberg*
Titanic Iceberg/Plum Porter mixed*
Yorkshire Heart Citra IPA
Ossett Voodoo
Holdens Dragon's Blood*
Bathams Best*
Thornbridge Peverel
Thornbridge Charlie Brown (keg)*
Thornbridge Creamsicle (keg)*
Craddocks Crazy Sheep*
Church End Fallen Angel
Hop Back Summer Lightening
Verdant Future You*
Banks Sunbeam
Electric Bear Glitch Pale
Fownes Mermaid's Tale*
Brew 61 Grazing Girls
Ringwood Forty Niner
All the Titanic beers were superb with the idea of mixing coming from Titanic bar staff. It works. Also enjoyed the Crazy Sheep and the Mermaid's Tale.
BOTW Holdens Dragon's Blood. A 5.6%, amber, hoppy but fruity beer which some said was reminiscent of TCP which may be why I liked it. The only Holden's beer I've enjoyed so far.

I've been nominating Titanic beers regularly for BOTW so for a change this week it goes to Verdant Future You ,a fine West Coast Pale from a brewer not often seen on cask in very good nick in the Hop Vault.
Next week more booze cruise and end month sessions in Hertford and the Euston Tap,so another punishing week.
