A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Kent:
Three Legs Brewing-English IPA 5%abv. A cracking beer:decently bitter with an undercurrent of hedge fruit. This seems to be a portmanteau beer with differing iterations, currently it is hopped with modern English hops (cultivars not listed.) My beer of the year to date.Taken , as often, in Larkins' Alehouse
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
A limited but quality week.
Church End Gravediggers Ale*
Irving Frigate*
Oakham Nelson Sauvin*
Adnams Ghost Ship
Saltaire DDH Citra*
Blackjack Jack In The Box*
Elusive Juxtapose*
Disruption Never Knew You Were Here*
Anspach & Hobday London Black*
The only average (but drinkable) beer was the Adnams, everything else was top end. BOTW , based on supreme condition, is Irving Frigate enjoyed in The Plough, which when I get around to re-reviewing/updating will get upgraded from an 8 to the full 10.

Thats about it Jim unless you really like walking, Google maps give the walk from the nearest bus stop at a 25 Min Walk, nearest train is Bramley on the Basingstoke to Reading line, 50 min walk , If you're flush a taxi maybe. I normally drive for a couple or preferably get driven. Important to note are the opening times are traditional lunchtime (not Monday) and evenings(not Sunday) closing afternoons, What pub hours look right. Very importantly CASH ONLY, and in your case I'm not sure if darts is still a thing but I didn't notice either way. It's a trad rustic pub with usually two or three changing beers, only food is Baguettes but good ones. Bit of hassle to get to and from but worth it.

Decent week:
Arbor My Little Sabrony*
Nethergate Old Growler*
Wellbeck Abbey Fruit Arcade
Leatherbritches Bohemian Dark*
Leighton Buzzard Winter Spice

Timothy Taylor Landlord
Oakham Bishops Farewell*
It's between two very good porters: the 5.8% Black Buzzard brewed with 6 different malts and BOTW Leatherbritches Bohemian Dark at 5.9% and using 9 different malts apparently. The Bohemian Dark was just a touch more complex and smooth.

"Good people drink good beer" Hunter S Thompson
A couple of family celebrations allowed for some rare mid-week bibbing, this week. Unfortunately, most of the beers seemed rather mid-week too - all pretty subdued.
Fernandes - Firebrand.
Riverhead - Deer Hill Porter.
Rat - Rat to the Future.
Chin Chin - Mountains Beyond Mountains.
Fernandes - Centennial.
Fernandes - Nelson IPA.
Ossett - White Rat.
Chin Chin - 1903.
Beartown - Conquer.
The White Rat just pipped the Nelson IPA to the post. Tried at the New Inn.
