Late on parade as we've just got back from Macclesfield.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Harlow,Kentish Town and near Hatfield.
Mc Mullens --IPA
McMullens -- Bootwarmer
Purity -- Pure UBU
Redemption --Big Chief *
Oakham -- Citra
St Austell -- Proper Job *
Greene King -- Vine Climber (house beer probably GK IPA)
Siren -- Soundwave IPA (keg)
Marble -- Mild *
3 Brewers of St Albans -- Porter* (bottle)
BOTW goes to Marble MILD.At 4.1% it may seem strong compared to a Black Country Mild (where is Soup Dragon when you need him ?) but using 8 malts it does replicate this classic beer and importantly has the wonderful dry finish which demands another pint.Served in great form in The Southampton Arms.
Next week a walk down the lower Lee Valley into hipsterville and then some footie, here's hoping for decent ale.

I was in there last night and took your advice; a great beer. Popped into The Bull & Gate on the way home for a swift half, so I appear to be shadowing you.

Working through current stocks at home. Beer of the Week was one of a newish batch of cans that the larger Tesco Stores introduced in around September / October I think (which included BrewDog's Parma Violets NEIPA). A strong beer which had its alcohol tempered by the cherry sweetness and not so thick that it was like drinking a Black Forest gateau:
BOTW: Vocation Imperial Kirsch
"Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter"
The Lord Stanley is well worth a look if in the area and inexplicably only has two reviews; maybe because it's too far out to appear on the Colonel Fawcett default pub map.
