Yes, I know: what was I thinking? Burnt Mill Brewery Coffee Maple Porter 5.6% has trouble written all the way through it, like a stick of Blackpool rock; the only thing missing is peppermint flavour. Coffee and maple syrup are included in the list of ingredients, so this is not one of those "barley, hops, yeast and water only" efforts that at least prompt a grudging acknowledgement of the brewer's skill in making a beer taste like coffee grounds. The dominant flavour is the maple syrup, though, Maybe it's the combination with the coffee that makes it taste like *burnt* maple syrup. Or maybe just the association with the brewery's name - perhaps all their beers taste like they've been burnt?
Come On You Hatters!
I didn't reckon much on Burnt Mill Higher Grounds.jpg, literally burnt coffee.
