Nothing at all bad but absolutely exceptional and BOTW was Northern Monk Northern Star a rather wonderful flavoursome 5.2% Porter in a 440ml can, all the more remarkable for only costing £2.00 (with clubcard) from Tescos, the almost as good BrewDog Mallow Laser Quest was also this price. Bargain.

Beer of the week was something that wouldn't be special in any other week, being light, thirst-quenching and quaffable all in one go and much-needed after a whole week back at the office. This would be the one you'd get your lager-drinking friends to try if you were trying to convert them to the ways of the ale:
BOTW: Sambrook's Session IPA
