There weren't that many ITV companies, 13 at the peak I believe, however BBC2 has always done good ones even the current selection and the BBC4 quartering is good, otherwise I might add Granada - from the North and Channel 4 is always imaginative. Anglia would be my number 5. The pits of course would be Border TV.
I've never thought about this so just to be awkward I'll go for Teledu Cymru.
Idents being the crap that stalls programmes from starting? Only one I like at present (not that I like them) is channel 4 silver man kicking a football through a window in Liverpool and running away.
The BBC sports ident from the late 80's to mid-90's
HTV's was rather trippy
BBC2 had a decade of great idents, really well done on a singular theme (I spent a lot of time watching BBC2 stuff, so remember them well. If memory serves some of the earliest ones were still used occasionally towards the end)
Anglia's was laughably bad
Channel 4 had it nailed for years though. How can you not love this or especially this Amercian Football one?
The original Channel 4 theme was just 4 notes and was written by David Dundas of Jeans On fame.
He also wrote the score for Withnail and I.
He'd now Lord David Dundas, probably not for writing the Channel 4 theme.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Happily I have no idea what this thread means.
Those of us of a certain vintage can go back to the really early days here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeYu9qhGDKE. Yes, even Teledu Cymru, Aqualung! I had long forgotten most, not least the Open University one which tended to penetrate the beer-fuddled brain with "hell, is that the time, I really ought to go to bed"...
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement
The OU - so many beards!
