A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Magic Rock brew tap, Huddersfield.
The Grapes
A very atmospheric pub,Dickensian with normally reliable Landlord but on this visit three pints of Proper Job slipped down easily.A Thames Path must visit.

"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
"Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer."

This one just made it into January and is Black Country Ales latest offering. It's a big deal for them as they also offer cooked food and accommodation. For the Heritage buffs it's also got loads of old tiling, M & B windows and I'm sure other things that passed me by. There's a massive choice of beers and a few ciders with fifteen pumps in the front right drinkers bar and a further ten in the left food bar.
Other plus points are that it's just down the lane from Stourbridge Junction Station and like the sister pub in Stourbridge has a Batham's pub nearby.
POTM Seven Stars
The Beacon Hotel in Sedgley just shades it over Nottingham's Vat & Fiddle; both superb, but the Heritage features in the former did it for me.
