A pub is for life not just for Christmas
More very good stuff this past week.
Exmoor Exile Barista
Three Brothers Hopical Storm
Manning Music Man
Slaters Columbia Coffee Stout
Surrey Hills Ranmore Ale
Hop Kettle Lode Star
Great Heck Trafalgar
Flowerpots Perridge Pale
Fullers Fresh Tracks
Mallisons Percalla
Dark Star American Pale Ale
71 Brewing Apres Apricot
Vibrant Forest Betula
Vibrant Forest Loral
Fell Cask O'Joe
Vibrant Forest are undoubtedly my brewery of the year, both examples above were top notch but I'm giving BOTW this week to a Coffee Stout, of the three of that style I've tried this week, all were good, but the Slaters Columbia was beyond good and takes the prize, yet again BOTW is found in in The Alfred.
No idea what next week may bring.

A few days spent in Wolverhampton gave this :-
Holden's Black Country Mild 3.7%
Pershore Solstice Gold 3.8%
Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.9%
Blue Monkey Primate 4.0%
Oakham Below Zero 4.1%
Grafton Sozzled Santa 4.3%
BCA Plum Pig 4.3%
Mumbles Oystermouth Stout 4.4%
Izaak Walton's Merry Maggot 4.4%
Reunion Talwar 4.5%
Titanic Last Porter Call 4.9%
Purple Moose X-Moose 5.0%
Hplden's Special 5.1%
Abbeydale Absolution 5.3%
Brewdog Punk IPA (keg) 5.4%
Hook Norton Twelve Days 5.5%
Fixed Wheel No Brakes IPA 5.5%
Froth Blowers Old Pals Ale 5.7%
Marston Old Empire 5.7%
Of the Xmas beers the only real dud was the Sozzled Santa and the Blue Monkey Primate is further proof that brown beers don't have to be boring. However, the clear winner is the Fixed Wheel No Brakes IPA (£3.50) which was superb in the Great Western.
Not much action between now and January.
BOTW Fixed Wheel No Brakes IPA
Kent: only one beer this week, but wisely chosen.
Angels and Demons-Goldilocks is Dead:5.3%abv.A grand pale ale, oaty oiliness and determined hops.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
This week including a short Norfolk jaunt:
Adnams Ghost Ship*
Panther American Pale Ale
Oakham Bishops Farewell*
Blue Monkey Guerilla Plum Stout*
Brancaster Brewdolph*
Brancaster are small and their output seems to range from very good to decidedly average but BOTW Brrancaster Brewdolph, a rich, malty 5%er with a moreish, bitter finish, hit the spot.
