Bump.
Now 2350 pubs listed doing a CAMRA discount.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Now that CAMRA are starting to show pubs which accept the extended voucher scheme, as well as those which give a direct discount, have we given any thought as to how (if?) we mark them on PuG? Marking the CAMRA discount field as Yes and adding a comment is slightly clumsy but sort of works.
I wonder if some that give discounts will go for vouchers instead in the future. Any reports yet of pubs giving a discount AND taking a voucher?
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement
Some JDW's have always given a CAMRA discount as well as taking the vouchers, although not for the same drink at the same time.
A decision was made that JDW's that just do the vouchers would be shown as not giving a discount.
The new scheme should be treated the same way as far as I can see.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas
I believe that any beer discounts other than the vouchers were removed when they had their minimum wage price increases some years ago now. I would look on any CAMRA discounts with JDW other than the vouchers suspiciously especially given the vociferous campaign against the vouchers on the boring CAMRA discourse site.
It was the non-JDW that I was thinking of. With Stonegate included it is going to be clear as mud which pubs are involved. I wonder if Yates & Slugs will be included?
I found the answer to my second query on the CAMRA website though:
CAMRA members enjoy discounts at over 4,700 pubs* nationwide via the RADS scheme, which encompasses:
Real Ale Discount Scheme Membership Card discounts (around 3,500 pubs)
CAMRA real ale, cider and perry paper vouchers (over 1470 pubs)
*some pubs may offer both discounts
