My top 10 list is very biased towards great real ale and pubs I would stay in for a long session.Point taken about The Cask,it's not much to look at.If the Great Western is also dropped in future then the pubs I've been to in the last four years that would replace these two would be

    Guildford Arms,Edinburgh

    Black Horse Hotel,Preston

With first reserve The Castle in Macclesfield.

These three pubs are my only 10 scores over the last four years.

Can't comment on the other two but yes The Black Horse was very impressive.

Very ugly, but along with the Lyric and Harp, it has the best cask selection in the borough of Westminster and chuck in The Bear too.

Leaving, though I can't guarantee that I've been in them recently :
    The Cover Bridge Inn
    The Blue Bell
    Red Lion
    The Shipwrights Arms
    The Salehurst Halt
    Earle Arms
    The Three Stags Heads
    Three replacements:
    Larkins' Alehouse
    Surrey Oaks
    The Kentish Rifleman

This is a subjective list, and I'm not 100% sure!
Further research indicates that I haven't visited the Earle Arms,Salehurst Halt or Three Stags' Heads for between five and nine years, so to bring some sense of contemporanity I'm adding the following:

    Halfway House
    The Ypres Castle Inn
    George Inn

I can't recall what I previously posted, and have avoided looking in order to end up copying.

I might name a slightly different ten tomorrow!

    Grove, Leeds
    Marble Arch, Manchester
    Sun Inn, Stockton
    Craft House, Lytham
    Sheffield Tap
    Wigan Central
    Moorbrook, Preston
    Magic Rock Tap, Huddersfield
Cafe at the top of Constitution Hill, Aberystwyth
    Maltings, York

And now I may permit myself to see my other choices 😃

A good way to do it, just three of your original list survive, but maybe now you want to change it?

I thought it would be fun to start one.

This is not easy, as I have just discovered. Getting on for 3,800 reviews, I have scored 32 a perfect 10 (0.84%)*. Of these 32, there are a number where I would have the score at 9.5, which knocks about half out. This left 19 to narrow down to 10! I gave favour to those where I have visited more than once - maintaining a 10 across multiple visits is a feat in itself. Then knocked out some where the last visit was more than 5 years ago. Then I filled the last few places with those where I shelved plans to move elsewhere, or I made a revisit during a crawl. Your methodology may be a bit different, of course

So here, in no particular order, is the Quinno Top 10 (thus far...)!

    The Bell Inn Aldworth
    The Monks Walk Beverley
West Riding Licensed Refreshment Rooms Dewsbury
    The Whalebone Hull
    The Strugglers Inn Lincoln
    Nags Head Reading
    Beacon Hotel Sedgley
    Kelham Island Tavern Sheffield
    The Guide Dog Southampton
    The Great Western Wolverhampton

    * - Snow White ran a bit of script which pulled out all my scores for every pub, so if you want the same, I'm sure you just need to ask nicely
So this was an interesting exercise. I uhhmed and ahhhd but in the end I had to knock a couple out due to the sheer amount of time that's elapsed since I either last went in or from when I last heard about the place from a trusted source.

So, those who keep their place:

    The Bell Inn Aldworth
    The Whalebone Hull
    The Strugglers Inn Lincoln
    Beacon Hotel Sedgley

    And our new entries:

    The Fat Cat Norwich
    Kay's Bar Edinburgh
    Bridge Inn Topsham
    The Ship Inn Fishguard
    Black Horse Preston
    Big 6 Halifax

I'm also becoming a harsher marker as I age. I suspect a few 9's I've scored over the past 5 years may well have been 10's back in the early 2010's.
