To narrow things down on the age front...I remember watching the first Apollo moon landing (and I was at the age where I could walk!!).

Also, I can remember the images of the sexy women on the cans of Watneys (when my Dad was drinking them, of course).

    Even Spoons weren't invented then!!

I haven't helped myself with the above, so looks like I'm getting the beer in

You can get the 89 back to Bloxwich with me and then either walk or get the train a few stops

Please count me in - I've booked the day off work and I'm waiting for the Cross Country trains booking horizon so that I can get some reasonably priced tickets. A pub crawling companion from Sheffield may want to join us too, if that's OK. Does this get you into the realms of the 25-seater?

Were you tempted by Ray's offer to buy you a drink if you can prove your birthday is in early to mid-October? I'm sure that there are plenty of websites from where you could obtain fake ID

We're up to 12 confirmed and I'm going to check with one or two of my mates this weekend. I don't mind if we take the 25 seater. My main concern was that if people just turned up and there wasn't enough room on the minibus and also if we need the larger vehicle then it would be helpful if I let our driver know asap so that he can reserve it for us. I did forewarn him that we might need it but I said I would confirm it with him.

Our friend Graham is a definite, so we are 3. He will come on the train from Sheffield with us to New St.

My possible companion from Sheffield will be a no show, due to his mother's 91st birthday being the same day. A poor excuse, except that she lives in Inverness...

    Trains are booked!
I managed to keep the costs down to £28.50 for a return from Eastbourne to Birmingham New Street.
Four hours travelling, eight hours drinking, four hours travelling!

Good stuff! Set the alarm on your phone for when you get near to home

You did note that we finish next to Wolverhampton train station? (Easy to get back to Brum from there though)
