In conjunction with Sussex, I'd recommend POW (6 or 7 ales when I chanced upon it mid 2011), and try to do Bull on a dry day, also taking in the Cock in Luddesdown, a couple of stops along. With good ground both are pleasantly walkable, vaguely cross country, (google satellite will show you) from Farningham Rd and Sole St stations on the same line. A fine Cock & Bull tour!

I had a crawl for Twickeham sketched out for late last year but never got round to it - Sussex Arms, Eel Pie, Rifleman, White Swan and a couple of others, I forget which...don't think the POW was on the list, so thanks for the heads up on that.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I'd like to get to the stage where every pub with a BS post-code (Bristol) has a photo, but I've still got a while to go yet. I had a good stab at it last year and managed to get every pub with a BS1 - BS4 post-code included, but since then some pesky people have added new pubs (myself included).

Trouble is, it includes quite a wide area, as far as Weston-super-Mare in the south which is about 20 miles away, but I'll keep at it.

I am trying to go to 150 new pubs this year. I know it sounds easy but I fell 12 short last year !!

By my calculations I did about 300 NEW pubs last year so looks like I will have to try and beat that! So far this year, a grand total of Zero new pubs! I'll see what I can find in soho before I get the train to the Lane this evening!

My target is to get positive map points for every pub in Wales. I am about two thirds of the way down in distance but I will be way under half way in number of pubs. Then the next (or concurrent) plan is to get into the vast areas with no reviews and not many photos. OK having a bus pass but not many buses to use it on.

A man with the same obsessive compulsive heart as myself. I have spent whole evenings pouring over the Peak District and moving map points after finding pubs on Google Streetview. It becomes strangely addictive. It also gives you an interesting pointer as to the surrounding area and the appearance of the pub.

I have been looking around Snowdonia on the internet over the last few days (I'm considering a short break later in the year). There are large parts of Wales untouched in terms of reviews and photos.

I'd like to think that I could pass the 1000 mark this year. Is it 1000 reviews or 1000 pubs that count for being in the 1000 club? I'm on 842 reviews of 823 pubs.

If it's reviews I might make it. If it's pubs I may well fall short.

I've got 10 in the locker to write up and I'll collect a few more today, but that will still leave me a bit of a challenge to get there.

The problem is that whilst we are often out and about in e.g. Manchester, Sheffield, York, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Derby etc I probably only collect 2 or 3 new pubs on each visit as we know where the best pubs and beer are and tend to go in most of those. I also have to compromise with the other half. The suggestion of "Shall we go in the xxxx, I've never been in there" is often met with something like "It's looks a bit rough, lets go to the xxxx instead, I like it there".

And looking at the prospective route I won't get ANY new pubs on the Liverpool crawl for example except maybe the Head Of Steam.

It's going to be a hard task, but I'll give it a go.

    It's gotta be pubs, IMO!
