I guess pubs are trying anything and everything, to pull in the customers. I know certain pubs have always allowed dogs on their premises, but it recent times it has become excessive.

I know. I like dogs, but its their behaviour and so many pubs boast 'We're dog friendly!' as if everyone loves dogs. I've seen people have accidents tripping on water bowls and slipping on soggy 'doggie snacks'. A trip a few years ago to The Perch Inn revealed a problem with sleeping dogs, not with noise or intrusion but because one or both stank. Almost as bad as belching students at The Medley next door.

All too true, but people frequently can't stop their dogs from barking, even if they are stationary. And doggie bums on seats aren't an attraction.
