How to make a grand entrance...

Cheers PSM! She was remarkably ok about it actually!

Nice one from ETA made me chuckle - making a suitably apt anagram out of a pub's name

Having said all that, the welcome from the barmaid was a cheerful one - she is by far the pub's best asset. How aposite that an anagram of "The Rose and Crown" is "retards, one wench".

I am somewhat in awe of ETA, I guess he is in "my" area for the last lot of reviews [Gosport]

But he seems to have the knack of damming with faint praise, love it

"Two collie dogs came in and doubled the residents' IQ. The bare floorboards should add ambience but just look scruffy" ... "It's not the worst pub I've ever been in, but it's not far off"

    Nice one from Brew Guru:

"knuckle dragging Neanderthals of nearby Yeovil dragging their screaming hoardes of braying brats in"

    from Rose and Crown

I liked the reference to grave robbers.

I think that ETA has surpassed himself with his review of The Cocked Hat.

I really did "laugh out loud"

It's even better reading it in a Stuart Hall accent!

Nice turn of phrase by Maldenman when bemoaning Greene King passing off St Edmunds Brewery produce as a guest ale here
