A rather amusing opinion from BF at Parcel Yard ... "this pub and restaurant could well double up as a pick up joint besides serving those commuters looking for a quick one"...

Eye watering prices reported by Jim Clark a year ago here.

I love the double whammy here, first from alan, then from the Hatter. "We didn't expect any real ale here, but even the Boddingtons and Tetleys smooth were off, so that left John Smiths Extra Cold Smooth Crap or Stella Wife Beater. One of my mates had the lager and I had the crap, the third making the wise choice of nothing at all, which had the additional benefit of being a lot cheaper than the dreadful drinks we paid for"

Some great 'scene-setting' from Strongers in his review of Angies Freehouse II

"I popped in here for a couple of pints on Friday afternoon and although the place is darker than Peter Mandelson's soul I still had a good time."

Nice one from ETA here. Can't wait to give this a try, but not "until I become garrulous, decrepit and olfactorily offensive, when I shall fit right in" with the rest of the customers.
