Just seen a recent (well, two months old) review by oldboots of the Royal Children in Nottingham; good timing as I will be in that city on Tuesday for a Luton Town game. Will definitely give this one a go. (Good to see the very welcome change in beer policy/quality reported in a new review rather than as an update of a previous review. Nice one.)

The Green Man - I've met Rex at least once, so he knows I'm a man. I haven't been referred to as Trish[a] (twice) since the first episode of Grange Hill aired in 1978.

Sorry I got that wrong. One too many 'h' - bit like Line of Duty. We did meet in the Adam & Eve on the 38 bus tour (I think!).

Well remembered. I was the one wearing the French maid's outfit.

    The Square Peg (JD Wetherspoon)

Loved Quinno's description of the Jockanese meal.

The challenge for whoever goes there next is to provide a description of this pub without dwelling on its clearly extraordinary length.

Not sure - the current challenge is to avoid banging on about the seemingly endless tram line reconstruction works outside!

    The Heart Of Hackney

    Classic Alan Winfield.

"There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Extra Cold Crap which was a really crap drink.
This pub is probably best left for people like me to review or those who like pool and watching football."

As luck would have it, I drank a half of the same beer last Saturday. It was "actually drinkable", as I wrote in my review. I can't even see this beer on the bar without thinking of Alan.
