It's Red Squirrel English IPA (5.0%) and is orange in colour rather than brown or straw. It didn't have much hop aroma but did have a good hop bite for a 5% beer. It will never be my favourite from the list but I'm sure there are people who would take to it in preference to the hop bombs made with foreign hops.
Sounds like my kind of beer...

Will definitely keep an eye out for this. It will be interesting to compare it to Red Squirrel's American Pale Ale, which I think is a superb beer and one of my BOTYs, last year.

I think it is the finest by a mile of their regulars but there is a dispute on the APA thread about where an American IPA should go.
I don't really care to be honest! To me an APA is just an IPA brewed with only American hops. The most important point is whether it's any good. It's not my list so I'm happy for TP to decide what's best.
I was tempted to start a similar thread about mild but was put off by the discussions (including by myself) about what is a dark bitter and what is a real mild. Some milds are so very obviously the real deal but I have never regarded the worthy 6% Sarah Hughes as a mild.

Going back to Revelation, I'm sure I read somewhere that the brewer wanted it to be their APA but someone decided it was too strong to sell.
My local Spoons got some Jaipur in last weekend for the first time ever. It barely lasted two days despite being 60p dearer than the standard guests and NO, I didn't drink it all!

Spot on and the real point of both the IPA and APA lists.

The discussions can be an entertaining diversion though.

Bit confusing really but an APA is their version of our pale ale (bitter) using American hops and we do strong bitters so strength doesn't matter .American ipa is their version of our IPA using American hops. But new Craft brewers do anything they want with beer and call it what they like.Had a Buxton xs mild 2.9 at the weekend.Pale yellow ,cloudy with yeast and sour. Now I cant see why that's a mild.

    One for the good list,

Elgoods Cambridge IPA 4.7% it sailed past the 3 pint test and would have gone past the 6 pint test but it ran out in our local Spoons after 5 pints, the wife also liked it
and had 4 halfs and 1 pint, very drinkable.
We are all equal, but some are more equal than others

    A well tested recommendation. Updated.
