Thanks guys. Was definitely Acorn, only my fourth beer of the night and nothing was at all blurred at that stage. The Ossett front is less clear to me as my phone (notes) tells me I thoroughly enjoyed their Big Red but it was at the end of the night and I haven't the slightest idea where I drank it!

A little bit late chipping in on this thread, but I would echo the comments above about the fluidity of the term these days, plus not getting too hung up on style boundaries. From a limited personal perspective, I'd say that in West Yorkshire the term IPA is often applied to APAs and even golden ales, beers that may well be below 5%. Two I've enjoyed recently have been Fernandes Motueka IPA and Summer Wine Kahuna.

Another new one tried this week at The Euston Tap, Ilkley Lotus IPA, typical IPA style and flavour and dangerously drinkable at 5.7%.

Orkney - Wayfarers India Pale Ale at 5% not to strong and it was very drinkable.
Did I mention Marble Dobber? A little sweet but up to 19th Century IPA average strength (6%) and bursting with hoppy flavour.
