Couple more for the good list:

Sunny Republic Hop Dog (5.5%) - brewed with Kohatu and Dana hops - not very subtle but very enjoyable.

Yeovil Posh IPA (5.4%) - very moreish, another very good beer from the Yeovil brewery - shame I couldn't find any of their beers on a recent trip to Yeovil.

Best bet is Woods Wine Bar , The Green Room (a restaurant!) and The Yew Tree . Woods is the best bet out of these three IMHO.

For a proper free house experience you are best looking in the pubs in the villages around Yeovil, but the beer is hard to find unless you know where to look. For Posh IPA the Rusty Axe Stembridge which has recently reopened is stocking it, as does the White Hart, Crewkerne. which reminds me, I need to update the Rusty with an up to date review.

Thanks for the tips. I spent most of my time in Yeovil trying to navigate my way from the train station into town, then onwards to Huish Park and back again on local buses. This seemingly simple task ended up being a complete nightmare, so I didn't get much time to explore beyond a quick hike up the hill to the Quicksilver Mail and a couple of swift pints in the town centre. I'll make sure Woods is on my list for next season.

Having visited the Marble Arch in Manchester 3 years ago it was clear to me that Marble Lagonda IPA was the best IPA I'd ever had and indeed the best beer. A recent visit was made with some trepidation: was this paragon as good as before, had the recipe changed, had the competition caught up.
There's no doubt that the competition is much better than it was 3 years ago as the below list shows and three cheers for that. Marble Lagonda IPA though, remains as excellent as ever and is still my favourite beer. That and the fact that my labrador is named after the brewery, justifies a reclassification from Good to A & H's F*****g Brilliant I think.

Old Dairy Hop Top Double IPA (9%) - a right hop bomb, sold in 330 ml bottles (which is probably all you would want in one go...)
