"Do I know where hell is? hell is in hello"
I definitely drank in an ex-Lacon's pub-the Falcon on Norwich in 1972-3.Whitbread's of course, but there seemed to be a lot of regional variation in "Trophy" .I can't remember where "Lacon's " Trophy was brewed ,but it was not the same as that in Kent-"Fremlin's "of blessed memory.
Some good beer in East Anglia now.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
As I remember it most of the southern breweries under the Whitbread "umbrella" brewed their own version of Trophy, I believe Wethereds and Brickwoods were the exceptions, maybe Flowers as well. Was Luton brewing cask beers in 1972-3? That may have been the source for East Anglia.
