    Question Longdog brewery

Has anyone come across any beers from the Longdog Brewery based in Basingstoke, set up in 2011. I recently tried a pint of their Lamplight Porter in my local and was very impressed.I often find many new micro breweries try to run before they can walk and the results can be less than satisfactory.according to their website,www.longdogbrewery.co.uk, there are another three beers I've yet to try,on the strength of the one I have maybe this brewery has got it right straight away.

Egham beer festivals have been good for Longdog brewery, although we did get one at Leicester fest this year.

Had Brindle Bitter, Bunny Chaser, Chilli Poacher, Cranberry Porter, Golden Poacher, Hare of the Dog.

This one is quite near to me,about 8 miles away, www.sherfieldvillagebrewery.co.uk, set up in may 2011 Iv'e seen at least 11 different beers advertised in various places. Of the two iv'e tried,Solo Motueka and Solo Green Bullet, definitely a case of running before walking I'd say.

Got a tip-off yesterday regarding Horsham's 4th brewery. Well, this one's just over the A24 in Southwater, but I'm told that the Baldy Brewery has upgraded from home to commercial brewing. Reading the website indicates that I'm a month ahead of time, but it seems the beer will be available soon. Seems quite ambitious plans for a start-up.

Hope the brewer does better than the nearby Rudgwick Brewery which couldn't make ends meet.

    Prize winning Kent Lager:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddr...for-lager.html

I must confess not to have tried this, though I have enjoyed their IPA. Unfortunately I think they are not bottle conditioned. There is some debate as to whether the beers are actually brewed at Smallhythe: the smart money says they come from Hepworths. In any case, they are intriguing.

    Hop Kettle Brewery

Enjoyed a beer from this brewery today. Hay Bale 3.7%.

Brewed at Red Lion pub in Cricklade I believe, but enjoyed at the Star in Crowlas today.

    Stocklinch Brewery in Somerset

This is a small rural brewery mid way between Yeovil and Taunton, nearest town Ilminster.
Tried a pint of the 3.8% Ramblers Gold. Drinkable, but wouldn't have gone for a second pint so as per with new breweries definitely "room for improvement".

I believe their beer will be available at Somerset Camra's Minehead festival - anyone going to that from the South West contingent?
