It's 1.6 miles (31 mins walk accoording to Bing Maps) between the 2 - must admit I thought they ere closer together than that and there isn't even a "lucky dip" pub half way is. Looks like the W15, W16 and W19 buses go roughly between the 2 if anyone is feeling lazy.

I suggest meeting in the Red Lion first, because it'll be getting towards the end of the 2nd week of the beer festival, so there's every chance it'll be a wash out. If not, great. But if it is, at least we'll have the Brodies to look forward to.

I'd agree Red Lion first. For the selfish reason that I haven't been before. Plus, in the warm arms of £1.99ppint at KW, one can become disinclined to move on! Lazy bus for me!

I'm not too bothered which way round we do them but the main consideration is getting home afterwards and the Red Lion is more convenient for a tube station. I don't mind a hike to get to a pub but would prefer a quick and easy getaway late at night after I've had a few!

Fair point Roger, tho Walthamstow and Leyton tubes should be busable from KW in ~10mins later evening. I note the W16 from Leytonstone (tube) to KW is listed at just 7mins.

Looking at various options but I will probably bus it to Canning Town or Stratford and pick up Tube or DLR from there.

Had a message from the boss at the Red Lion - there will be 80 ales and 10 farmhouse ciders over the festival period and the plan is to have 10 Festival ales available on any given day across the 2 weeks, 5 from up north and 5 from down south. Obviously he can't say what will be on by the 19th but I don't think there will be any problem of ale shortage whether we get there first of last.

I don't really mind which pub we start at. What sort of time will you all be arriving? I'll probably struggle to get there before 18:30 - 19:00 unfortunately.
-
I'll be in whatever pub we finally settle on around 5'ish.
-
I'll be aiming to get to the Red Lion about 6. Hope to meet some of you there.
