Default 20% Discount for CAMRA Members at TGC Pubs in October

To quote from this week's CAMRA e-mail newsletter:

"National pub group TCG is offering a 20% discount on pints of real ale for all CAMRA members in over 40 pubs during Cask Ale Week (1st to 9th October) and for the rest of the month.

The discount can be claimed by simply showing a valid membership card in any of the participating pubs."

A list of the participating clubs can be found here:

Walked into the Bull N Vic in Dartford, an apparent participant (surprisingly) and they knew nothing about it (unsurprisingly).

Given that it isn't a big pub for ales I had anticipated there being a problem so I went in armed with the appropriate internet page open on my phone. There was a band soundchecking so I had a shouty match with the girl behind the bar and flashed her my phone and CAMRA card. Managed to get 50p off. Second pint was different barmaid. Band were in full pelt and despite flashing my CAMRA card was charged full price. I had another 3 or 4 pints after that but couldn't be bothered to go through it all again. Left a stroppy message on their Facebook page instead to which no-one has responded. Mangement need to wake up me thinks!
